Harry set to make NBA 2K League history

After an unfortunate hand injury to our point guard Ceez, NBL Oz Gaming’s inaugural player HarryVZN will step up to play in his first career 3v3 game in the 3v3 Slam Open.

Harry will become the first Australian to ever play 3v3 in the NBA 2K League, saying he is ready for the challenge of playing alongside Bagmotion and Plu. 

“I’ve never been on the 3v3 court before, so I’m going to look to be a team player, do my job and get the win hopefully,” he told NBL Media. 

“I wouldn’t say I feel too much pressure, it’s not like I play a different position and have to switch. Last year I played point guard, so it shouldn’t be too hard for me to step in and do a decent job to get wins.” 

When asked what we should expect from Harry in his first game, he explained it won’t be much different from what fans saw last season.

“Just good basketball, nothing flashy, nothing crazy,” he said.

“Just get in the game, take some twos, hit some open threes – just get in and out of the game.”

Reigning Coach of the Year Mootyy has high expectations for the inaugural player, stating he has all the tools to be a dominant player in this mode. 

“Despite stepping in on short notice, I think Harry is going to shine in his 3v3 debut,” he said.

“His performance might be a shock to many but we won’t be surprised. He has all the tools to be a top guard in this mode and has looked phenomenal this week in practice. We fully believe in his abilities to help lead us to success.”

“The team has embraced Harry stepping in really well. It’s almost like nothing changed in our comms and gameplay. The overall vibes in the room have been great.”

While there is no set timeline for Ceez’s return, Mootyy praised how impactful he has been off the court, becoming more of a leader in his absence from the controller. 

“Ceez has also been a great teammate, staying engaged and helping out coaching up the team. I can’t express enough how solid of a leader Ceez is,” Mootyy said.

“I’m not in a hurry to rush him back and risk the possibility of the injury becoming worse. I want him to be able to return when he feels 100 percent. The team overall has been stepping up in many ways while he’s been unable to practice.”
