REPORT: Cameron to sign in Adelaide

Sunday, April 6, 2025

"“Cameron had half the NBL chasing his signature. It came down to the 36ers and his hometown New Zealand Breakers."

The Adelaide 36ers have continued their recruiting drive, landing former Melbourne United guard Flynn Cameron, ESPN’s Olgun Uluc reports.

Cameron will head to the 36ers on a three-year deal, Uluc says, having attracted interest from “half the NBL”, and in particular, his hometown New Zealand Breakers.

“Flynn Cameron has agreed to a three-year deal with the Adelaide 36ers, sources told ESPN. The Kiwi guard was a high priority for the 36ers, where he’ll step into an expanded role,” Uluc tweeted.

“Cameron had half the NBL chasing his signature. It came down to the 36ers and his hometown New Zealand Breakers, sources said; the deal + role in Adelaide was more preferable. 36ers head coach Mike Wells flew to NZ to meet with Cameron in the past 48 hours to seal the deal.”

Cameron played 36 games for United in NBL25, averaging 5.3 points, 1.8 rebounds in around 12 minutes of action a game.

Adelaide announced the signing of Isaac White on Saturday, with GM of Basketball Matt Weston previously telling NBL.com.au the club was prioritising local talent before shifting its focus to imports.
