Fresh off a record-breaking Hungry Jack’s NBL26 season, in which the competition experienced unprecedented growth across attendance, broadcast, digital and commercial performance, the 2026-27 campaign is looming as the biggest in the competition’s history.

Live game streaming across ESPN platforms grew by 21 per cent season-on-season, marking back-to-back years of 20 per cent growth, while average audiences on the competition’s previous free-to-air partner increased by 18 per cent compared with last season.

Now, with the recent announcement that the NBL is teaming up with the 9Network, the sky is the limit for the Australian competition.

On the back of this exciting announcement, the 10-team League will be more accessible than ever to all the country’s hoops fans, with all games live on ESPN and the Saturday night double-header simulcast on 9Network.

As well as the latter, the 9Network will also be showing the NBL Finals Series, broadcasting the weekly NBL Overtime program and incorporating a 9Now integration, allowing fans to watch highlights of current and past games.
