Ninnis’ Cotton plan

Thursday, December 28, 2023
The Adelaide 36ers are preparing a plan to slow down Bryce Cotton on Thursday night.
Adelaide 36ers interim head coach Scott Ninnis has hinted at his plan of attack on Perth Wildcats’ star Bryce Cotton ahead of their game tonight.
The 36ers are coming off a much needed win over Brisbane, while Cotton is in outstanding form, having scored 36 points and 33 points in his last two outings.
Ninnis has come up with a game plan to “quieten” Perth’s go-to man, but was keeping his cards close to his chest.
“You know what to expect, you know that Bryce Cotton is the best player in the league. You know what you’re going to have to do to try and quieten his effect,” Ninnis said.
Ninnis hopes the emotional win the 36ers had on Christmas Eve has sparked a flame for the bottom placed Adelaide side.
“Having the win on Christmas Eve and now to turn around and play a team the calibre of Perth is a real exciting challenge for us," he said.
“I expect it to be a really tight and hard-fought game, and I expect us to come out and win it.”

The three-time NBL champion spoke on his aim in getting the enjoyment of basketball back within the club, and this could only be the start of stringing wins together.
“The mood in the last couple of weeks has been upbeat. One of the things I said the day I got the job was, we need to bring enjoyment back to the game," Ninnis said.
“I want to be able to make training sessions enjoyable, and in turn play a style of game that is enjoyable as well.
“I think you’ve seen that with the mood of the group, and let’s hope it continues.”
Adelaide host Perth tonight at 7:30pm AEDT, live on ESPN via Kayo.
