NBL Young Guns Named in Australian U-19 Squad

Five emerging NBL players have been named in the Australian Men's Under-19 squad for an upcoming 2021 FIBA Basketball World Cup selection camp which will take place in Canberra from May 31-June 2, 2021.

Five emerging NBL players have been named in the Australian Men's Under-19 squad for an upcoming 2021 FIBA Basketball World Cup selection camp which will take place in Canberra from May 31-June 2, 2021.

From this camp, a final Emus team will be named to represent Australia in the Under-19 World Cup in Latvia from July 3-11.

Adelaide 36ers Next Star Josh Giddey has been named in the squad, alongside Brisbane Bullets guard Tamuri Wigness both of whom have starred in NBL21 for their respective squads.

Giddey has also been named in the Australian Boomers 24-man squad for the Tokyo Olympics.

Brisbane Bullets DP Blake Jones has been named off the back of a stellar U20 Australian Junior Championships run with Queensland as well as Sydney Kings DP Jaylin Galloway and Illawarra Hawks DP Akoldah Gak.

The NBL contigent join a host of emerging stars including the likes of Dyson Daniels, returning college guard Biwali Bayles, Tasmanian duo Reyne Smith and Taran Armstrong, and NBA Global Academy guard Tyrese Proctor.
