Flynn Cameron says past Championship Series heartbreak is fuelling his NBL26 Finals push with the Adelaide 36ers.

After falling agonisingly short the past two seasons, Adelaide 36ers’ Flynn Cameron is determined to go one better during the Hungry Jack’s NBL26 Finals.

Rising star Cameron was part of Melbourne United’s past two Championship Series appearances, which ended in his side losing in five games to Tasmania and Illawarra respectively.

Now, ahead of the 36ers' Playoff Series against the South East Melbourne Phoenix, Tall Blacks international Cameron has explained how the past heartbreak is driving his championship ambition.

“It’s a whole different team and a whole different puzzle, but I think back to United just because I know what it takes to get to those finals, I’ve seen it happen in front of me,” Cameron told CODE Sports.

“I felt like we definitely could have won both those series, but it’s all a part of the game and all part of learning.

“When I came to Adelaide, I didn’t want to be part of anything short of that, and I’ve got great confidence in the way we’ve been training and preparing for these finals.”

Cameron has had an impressive first season in Adelaide, averaging 12.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists a game. He also won the NBL26 Most Improved Player Award.

The Sixers hit the Adelaide Entertainment Centre hardwood against the Phoenix from 7.30pm AEDT on Tuesday night, live on ESPN.
