Cairns Taipans youngster Bul Kuol is being eyed by the Chicago Bulls Summer League team, according to NBL analyst Liam Santamaria.

Kuol had a standout campaign for the Taipans, winning Rookie of the Year and breaking the NBL record for most three-pointers made by a rookie, previously held by Shane Heal.

Santamaria has revealed the 25-year-old’s strong season has drawn NBA interest.

“There is a little bit of Summer League buzz bubbling around right now about Bul Kuol,” Santamaria stated on NBL Overtime.

“My understanding is the Chicago Bulls have come knocking on the Bul Kuol door, just asking the question about Summer League.

“There’s some scheduling that needs to be worked out because my understanding is he is going to play for South Sudan at some (African) qualifiers coming up.”

There is an Australian link in Chicago, with former Sydney Kings coach Damian Cotter currently serving as an assistant with the Bulls.
