BREAKING: Adelaide, CJ Bruton part ways

Friday, December 8, 2023
CJ Bruton and the Adelaide 36ers have mutually parted ways.
The Adelaide 36ers have parted ways with head coach CJ Bruton by mutual agreement.
Club legend and current assistant coach Scott Ninnis named to take over as interim head coach for the remainder of the campaign.
Bruton arrived as head coach at the start of the NBL22 season and has left the club with 27 wins from 67 games in charge.
The move comes as the 36ers have been left reeling after suffering a 35-point loss Tasmania in Round 9, where they scored just 59 points in the defeat.
“We thank CJ for his tireless efforts, both on and off the court, but we believe it’s time to go in a new direction,” Adelaide CEO Nic Barbato said.
“The 36ers organisation would like to thank CJ for his time at the club and wish him and his family all the best for their future endeavours.”
Adelaide will host Cairns this weekend in the club’s first game under interim coach Ninnis.
