The Adelaide 36ers confirmed on Monday that they have bolstered their roster for the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 season by signing champion Bul Kuol to a multi-year deal.
The defensive-minded wing, who represented South Sudan at the 2024 Olympic Games, joins the Sixers on a two-year deal.
Kuol has appeared in 133 NBL games across stints with Cairns and Sydney, averaging 9.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
He was named the NBL Rookie of the Year in 2022 during his time with the Taipans and has since built a reputation as one of the league’s most intense and physical perimeter players.
Adelaide 36ers General Manager of Basketball Operations Matt Weston said Kuol’s recent championship experience would be a major asset for the group.
“Bul is a proven competitor who brings toughness, versatility and a team-first mentality,” Weston said.
“He’s someone who can guard multiple positions, apply pressure defensively and still make an impact on the offensive end.
“That balance is incredibly valuable in today’s game.
“Coming off a championship season, he understands what it takes to win at the highest level in this league.
“That experience, combined with his professionalism and work ethic, will make him a great addition to our group.”
The 29-year-old is currently working his way back to full fitness after sustaining an ACL injury in January.
Kuol joins Bryce Cotton, Zylan Cheatham, Flynn Cameron, Isaac Humphries, Nick Rakocevic, Isaac White and Ben Griscti as contracted players for Mike Wells’ squad next season.
