36ers stars target fast start

Friday, July 12, 2024
The Adelaide 36ers are wasting no time getting ready for the new season.
Adelaide 36ers marquee duo Isaac Humphries and Dejan Vasiljevic will get a jump-start on preparations for NBL25, with the stars to hit the court together from Monday.
The 36ers generated strong momentum at the back end of last season with the Australian combo leading the way, and with Humphries back in Adelaide and Vasiljevic cut from the Boomers squad, the two will look to keep building their chemistry ahead leading into pre-season.
“(Vasiljevic) was straight into what we are going to do training wise and how we are going to get the best out of everything,” Humphries said.
“We have a plan starting next week and we will start working out together.
“I thought it was important for me and him to get out there and start working put together and building on that relationship. We are already so close, but it’s more about understanding where we want to move on the court.
“We are doing three sessions a day as of Monday.”
Humphries is coming off a career NBL24 season, where he averaged 15.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.
The 36ers’ campaign begins on September 22 against the Sydney Kings at RAC Arena in Perth as part of HoopsFest.
