THROWBACK: Shaq hits court with NBL team

Before winning four NBA titles and being named the League’s MVP, superstar Shaquille O’Neal hit the hardwood with an NBL team.

In 1997, while on an Australian tour, the Naismith Hall of Famer trained with the South East Melbourne Magic, who were the NBL’s reigning champions at that point.

During that session, the three-time Finals MVP went toe-to-toe with Brian Goorjian’s exciting roster, featuring Chris Anstey, Mike Kelly, Sam McKinnon, Tony Ronaldson, Jason Smith, Billy McCaffrey, Andrew Parkinson, John Dorge, Frank Drmic and Darren Lucas.
