Talking points
MVP matchup
Arguably the two best players in the competition, Bryce Cotton and Kendric Davis, will go toe-to-toe at Qudos Bank Arena.
The five-time MVP comes into the Pink Hoops clash having hit the game-winner for Adelaide in their overtime winagainst New Zealand, while Davis scored a career-high 40 points, to go along with eight dimes, in Sydney's victory over Tasmania.
While Cotton may already have one hand on this year's MVP trophy, a huge performance by Davis and his Kings could potentially change that.
New pieces waste no time
Neither Sydney's Torrey Craig nor Adelaide's John Jenkins have wasted time in making an impact for their new clubs.
The former posted an all-around game of 12 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks and 1 assist in his Kings debut, while Jenkins hit six triples on Friday night on his was to 24 vital points for Adelaide against New Zealand.
Both loom as crucial pieces, not only on Sunday, but for both teams' road to a championship.
What they're saying
Kings guard Tyler Robertson on the impact teammate Kendric Davis is having on the group:
“You naturally see the stuff that goes on social media, him coming in, and he’s been completely different to what you’ve heard of everything that happened in Adelaide.
“He’s a guy that after every game he texts me what I can do better, what I’ve done great.
"That sort of stuff is stuff that doesn’t really get noticed and people don’t know about it … and people don’t need to know about it, but it’s stuff like that that really shows his true character and true leadership.”
36ers star Bryce Cotton on Adelaide recruit John Jenkins:
"He's (Jenkins) a true pro, he knows how to play the game and his movement with and without the ball is amazing, and we all kind of fed off of that.
"But it was just a great team win and John carried us a big part of that first half and then even down the stretch he hit some big shots for us, Flynn hit some big shots and DJ (Vasiljevic) hit a couple of threes, and that's what it's about finding those sweet spots where we have so many weapons, and being able to utilise that.
"For John to have a game like this in just his second game with us, it's very impressive, but it's not surprising."
