Tasmania JackJumpers' star Bryce Hamilton is out for the season with an ACL injury.

The Tasmania JackJumpers’ injury woes continue, with star import Bryce Hamilton out for the remainder of the season due to an ACL injury.

Hamilton hurt himself during Thursday night’s loss to the Sydney Kings, the same game that saw Majok Deng sidelined with concussion.

Hamilton was right in the mix for All-NBL First Team honours, averaging 18.2 points on 47 per cent shooting across the NBL26 campaign.

“It’s absolutely devastating for Bryce, and for our group. We’re all really feeling for him” General Manager Basketball, Darren Smith said.

“We were hopeful, with initial indications, that his injury was minor and any pain could be appropriately managed by our High Performance team.

“However, scans have confirmed our worst fears, and he’ll now work with our medical team to determine the best course of action for surgery and recovery” Smith said.

“Obviously this adds to our injury list at a crucial time of the season, but we know we have the depth to finish the season well and make our fans proud."

Big man Will Magnay had already been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a toe injury.

It’s a cruel blow for the JackJumpers as they cling on to sixth spot, with a spot in the Play-In Tournament on the line.

Tasmania hosts Illawarra on Saturday night at 8:00pm AEDT, live on ESPN.
