Put the brooms away: Gaze tips Adelaide fightback

Andrew Gaze insists Adelaide has too much talent and resilience to be swept, backing the 36ers to hit back against Sydney
Damon Lowery made the call to “get the brooms out”, but Andrew Gaze believes Adelaide can get one back on the Sydney Kings over the weekend to bring the Championship Series to life.
Speaking on SEN, Gaze said the 36ers had fought too hard all season and boasted too much talent to be swept in the decider.
“I am going to say…and this sounds ridiculous, but I am going to say the Adelaide 36ers are going (to) be able to bounce back and pick up a win either here (Game 2 on Friday night) or on Sunday,” the seven-time MVP said.
“I don’t think it’ll be a sweep.”
Adelaide spent much of the season on top of the NBL standings, before being overtaken by the Kings for the regular season title.
But Gaze says while they aren’t at their best right now, the 36ers should bounce back from a 44-point thrashing.
“I just think that the Adelaide 36ers throughout the course of the season have shown a level of consistency which I think would make it very difficult for any team, including the Sydney Kings, to sweep them,” he added.
Adelaide hosts Sydney on Friday night at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, with tip-off live on ESPN and 10 Drama (Adelaide and Sydney) from 7.30pm AEDT.
