OFFICIAL: Adelaide signs Cotton in bombshell move

Friday, May 23, 2025
The Adelaide 36ers have signed Bryce Cotton on a three-year deal.
Five-time NBL MVP Bryce Cotton has officially signed with the Adelaide 36ers for the next three seasons.
It's one of the biggest Free Agency signings in NBL history, with Cotton making the switch from the Perth Wildcats to their rivals Adelaide.
36ers General Manager of Basketball, Matt Weston, said the impact of Cotton's signing would be felt for years to come.
“The opportunity to bring in one of the all-time greats of the NBL is hard to pass up,” Weston said.
“Bryce has a history of winning championships, of personal and team excellence, and he’s going to help us transform our culture and our standards to build a team capable of winning championships.
“We know when he’s up and going, he’s hard to stop and we think our fans will love having him on our side instead of playing against us.”
The 36ers have already made their mark on Free Agency with the additions of Flynn Cameron and Michael Harris, along with Matt Kenyon and Isaac White.
But complementing Dejan Vasiljevic and Isaac Humphries with Cotton could be a defining move in Adelaide's quest for their first championship since 2002.
“Over the last season I’ve really got a handle of the NBL and the players in this league, Matt Weston and I had a really clear vision of how we wanted to reshape this roster and I think we have systematically picked guys we’ve wanted, and that wanted to be here," head coach Mike Wells said.
“We’re really excited about who we’ve been able to bring in so far, but then to be able to bring in a guy like Bryce Cotton, it just takes our reshaping efforts to a new level.
“He brings a unique set of skills and talents to an already talented group, and we’re excited by what the future looks like.”
Whatever the 36ers' fortunes in NBL26, they're certainly leaving no stone unturned in their push for success.
