Breakers lose duo to long-term injuries

The New Zealand Breakers will be without Max Darlng (eye socket) and Izayah Le'afa (foot) for the foreseeable future.

The New Zealand Breakers have suffered a double injury blow coming out of the FIBA Break.

Forward Max Darling will miss the next six weeks of action, after sustaining a fractured eye socket, which will require surgery.

While guard Izayah Le'afa will be sidelined for three months due to a fractured foot , suffered in game two of the Tall Blacks' FIBA World Cup Qualifiers against the Boomers in Wellington. He will also require surgery.

Following this news, the Breakers have signed New Zealand international Tai Webster as an Injury Replacement Player.

New Zealand hosts Sydney on Wednesday night from 5.30pm AEDT, with the Ignite Cup fixture live on ESPN.

During that fixture, Darling and Le'afa will be replaced by Tukaha Cooper and Jack Andrew respectively.
