Will’s power: Magnay to lead Boomers

Tasmania JackJumpers marquee, Will Magnay, has been chosen to captain the Australian Boomers squad in the upcoming FIBA Asia Cup in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The 27-year-old big-man put up an impressive performance in the Boomers' game against the UC Buffaloes on Thursday night ahead of the big stage. He scored 7 points, 6 assists and 2 steals which led to a 93-87 win for the national squad.

"It's definitely an honour to represent the country as captain," he said.

The Boomers head to Jeddah to play their first game next Wednesday against South Korea before then taking on Lebanon on Friday and Qatar on Sunday to complete the group stage.
