Goorjian keeps Kings grounded with history calling

"I’ve been in this game for a long time to know, and as we’ve seen in this Finals series, it’s not over until that buzzer goes off."
Heading into Game 4 of the Hungry Jack’s NBL26 Championship Series, the Sydney Kings are just one win away from their sixth title.
But as the Kings found out in Game 2, the Adelaide Entertainment Centre is a tough environment to walk out of victorious, particularly with the 36ers' 15-6 at that venue this season.
Sydney coach Brian Goorjian said his team learnt from that dramatic defeat in Adelaide last time around.
“This is Finals basketball, and it was disappointing [to lose in that fashion], because we felt like we had an opportunity to win, which is difficult down there,” Goorjian said during the club’s media availability.
“It didn't happen, so the whole focus was to regroup and [concentrate] on to the next one. I'm happy with the way our guys responded [in Game 3 and it’s up to us to perform at that level again].
“The key thing is our process. What we did between Game 2 and 3 was great and now it’s about making more adjustments and doing what we do better.
“[At the end of the day] it shouldn't matter where we play or other outside factors that are not in our control. It’s about staying on what we can control. That has been the main message we’ve been saying to the group the past few days.”

If the Kings do prevail on Wednesday night, it will be Goorjian’s seventh NBL title and fourth with the Harbour City side.
But the seven-time Coach of the Year doesn’t think about the end prize until the final siren sounds.
“I’ve been in this game for a long time to know, and as we’ve seen in this Finals series, it’s not over until that buzzer goes off,” he said.
“I’m not one to visualise being a champion, rather concentrate on each possession and playing a great game.”
Game 4 of the Championship Series tips off at 7.30pm AEDT on Wednesday at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, live on ESPN and 10 Drama in Sydney and Adelaide.
