JackJumpers optimistic on Lee

Wednesday, March 6, 2024
Just six days since suffering what looked a serious injury, Marcus Lee is doing his best to be fit for the Playoffs.
Tasmania JackJumpers big man Marcus Lee could make what would be a miraculous recovery to take his place against Perth on Friday night, the club has confirmed.
Lee left the court after just 22 seconds in the JackJumpers' win over Illawarra last Wednesday, with what looked to be a serious shoulder injury.
The club has since revealed Lee had suffered a pinched nerve in his neck. caused by shoulder pain.
Just six days since suffering the injury, Lee is doing his best to be available for the Playoffs.
“He will be day-to-day, but at the moment he is tracking well and we are optimistic about it,” assistant coach Jack Fleming said.
“We were lucky it wasn’t a bad shoulder injury and he seems to be in a good spot.
“From the moment (it happened) we thought it was an AC or a shoulder, so for it to just be a little neck tweak is great news and it’s just great to have him back so early in the week.”
Lee took to the court on Tuesday at practice, with Fleming stating he is in a "good spot" to take on the Wildcats, with a final decision to come later in the week.
Will Magnay was dominant after Lee left the game last week, with the pair vital to the JackJumpers chances in the three-game Playoff Series.
