JackJumpers, Championship MVP agree to release

"We left no stone unturned trying to bring Jack back to Tassie, but ultimately this is Jack’s decision."
The Tasmania JackJumpers have released the following statement regarding Jack McVeigh:
Following a request from Jack McVeigh and his management, the Tasmania JackJumpers have agreed to release McVeigh from the remaining year on his contract to allow him to pursue other professional opportunities.
While the JackJumpers are disappointed Jack will not be returning to the club in the foreseeable future, the club would not unreasonably withhold a release.
We respect Jack’s decision making and understand that he needs to do what is best for himself and his family.
“We left no stone unturned trying to bring Jack back to Tassie, but ultimately this is Jack’s decision and we now need to respect that,” General Manager Basketball, Darren Smith said.
“We have assembled a strong NBL26 roster, which we need to prioritise to ensure a competitive season” Smith said.
Tasmania JackJumpers will continue to apply its established roster management strategy that puts the interests of the club first.
