Talking points

Bounce back Bryce
All the attention and storylines are around the six-time MVP and how he will bounce back from being well held in Game 1.

Bryce Cotton averaged an astonishing 29.7 points following games where he had scored less than 17 points this season.

The Sydney Kings have done well to limit his effectiveness across the five games they have seen each other in NBL26, but Game 2, when their championship hopes hang in the balance, will mean everything and more.

Kendric's reception
The Adelaide faithful made sure that Nathan Sobey knew he was entering enemy territory in Game 3 of their Playoff Series, echoing a chorus of boos every time he touched the ball.

If that was enough of a demonstration, Kendric Davis may feel even more of that heat on Friday night with the backstory he has with the club.

Combining the fact that he was there last year, his strong commentary around the MVP and the fact that he stands in the way of their championship hopes, this could be an intense Adelaide crowd.

What they're saying

36ers guard Dejan Vasiljevic on his side's mentality heading into Game 2, down 1-0:
“It’s only Game 1. If you lose by one point, or you lose by 44, you’re still down one-zip.

“When I played for the Kings, we lost our first game against New Zealand, and we were able to bounce back and win the series. You just have to take a game at a time.

“Treat it like a tennis Grand Slam [for example] ... you've got to win three sets, and we’ve dropped the first one.

“Plenty of people drop the first set and bounce back, so that’s our mentality. We’re trying to push this as far as we can. We’re trying to win but know we’ve got to take it one day at a time.”

Kings forward Torrey Craig on playing at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre:
“Adelaide is a tough place to go in and play on the road, and we know that.

“As a competitor, as a player, you love those environments. You want that, you want to be the villain. You want to be the team that's getting booed. You want to have moments where you can have opportunities to touch the crowd and play.

“I don't think anyone has to reiterate to put our foot on the neck; we know what we need to do.”
