Hools is Hearing: United circling NBA coach

Melbourne United are the last team in the League looking for a head coach, and Hools is Hearing that a very prominent and well-respected NBA name is at the top of the list.

Current Milwaukee Bucks assistant Dave Joerger has been interviewed by the club recently about potentially taking over after Dean Vickerman’s departure.

The 52-year-old has previously been Head Coach of the Memphis Grizzlies and Sacramento Kings, before being added to the Bucks staff two years ago.

During his time in the United States, Joerger won the 2024 NBA Cup with the Bucks in 2024 (as an assistant) and the NBA D-League title with the Dakota Wizards in 2007 as Head Coach.

There is a strong relationship between Joerger and newly signed marquee Joe Ingles, which could further strengthen the possibility of landing such a big name for United.

While the process continues, former United assistant Jacob Chance is still in the hunt for the role, having been interviewed previously, among other names.

United’s roster currently has Chris Goulding, Joe Ingles, Shea Ili, Sam Waardenburg, Fabijan Krslovic, Kyle Bowen and Dash Daniels for the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 Season.
