Montrezl Harrell has responded to reports he's set to leave the Adelaide 36ers.

Montrezl Harrell has taken to social media to respond to rumours he will part ways with the Adelaide 36ers.

Harrell has reportedly “faced complications following a doping violation he was found guilty of while playing in China in the off-season”, according to an article from ESPN’s Olgun Uluc, with the club unable to navigate through the situation.

The 31-year-old responded soon after that news dropped.

“Wish I knew the truth in what actually happened! I played in Puerto Rico but hey idk (I don’t know) rules!,” Harrell tweeted.

“Like I understand fail a drug test! I get what the test showed! What I get lost is on the doping part! Because doping is (a) rule on taking a drug to increase or gain an edge in competition use! I know damn well I had zero of anything like that in me so again doping???”

Harrell signed off by thanking NBL fans for their support.

"Much love for all the Australian fans man I truly appreciate and love the support and energy y'all gave to me! Made me fall in love with hoops again last year in a dark time! Will always be grateful for that!," he said.

The club is yet to comment on Harrell’s potential departure.
