Cheatham: ‘Grit got us over the line’

Zylan Cheatham credits Adelaide’s grit, belief and trust in their system for a thrilling Game 4 win.
With their backs against the wall, Adelaide and Zylan Cheatham stood tall and powered the 36ers to an incredible Game 4 win over Sydney.
The athletic forward’s side was down by as many as nine points at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, before prevailing 92-91 on the night.
In his post-game interview with ESPN, Foot Locker Player of the Game Cheatham, who tallied 23 points, 9 assists and 8 rebounds, explained how his team’s belief got them over the line.
“It [the win] took a lot of grit and determination,” Cheatham said to ESPN.
“We got our crowd behind us, and we just trust the way we've been doing all this.
“We backed our instincts, which is something we've been doing all season.
“We came in with a good game plan, and that's a hell of a team we executed well against.”

With an eye on Sunday’s Game 5, Cheatham said he’s willing to do whatever it takes to win the Hungry Jack’s NBL26 Championship for Adelaide.
“I'm going into it [Game 5] with no expectations,” he said.
“Obviously, I want to play well, but [most importantly] I want to do anything to win this Championship and bring that medal back to the crib.
“This [Adelaide] is where I want to be. This is where I want to stay, and there’s a reason I signed my extension here. I love these guys. I love my team. I love my organisation.
“They're the best fans in the world, and I'm just honoured to be able to play in front of them.
Game 5 of the Championship Series tips off at 2.30pm AEST on Sunday at Qudos Bank Arena, live on ESPN and 10.
