Gangurrus stay true to winning formula

Cairns’ head coach Adam Forde will again take the reins and lead a young and exciting squad in Mongolia.
The Gangurrus squad has been announced ahead of the 2025 FIBA 3x3 World Cup later this month.
Fresh off success at the Asia Cup winning the gold medal, Cairns’ head coach Adam Forde will again take the reins and lead a young and exciting squad in Mongolia.
Forde is keeping together the strong core that comprises of Alex Higgins-Titsha, Dillon Stith, Jonah Antonio, alongside Josh Davey.
“Picking this group was important as we’ve built some good momentum,” he said.
“The Champions Cup was a successful campaign for us, and it gave us insight into how some of the best countries in the world play. Then we had success winning gold at the Asia Cup and those two campaigns have given us a clear game plan for what we need to do to be successful.”
The team will have their work cut out for them, placed in the toughest pool of the tournament.
“It’s a tough pool, and as a lower seed, there are no easy games. 3x3 is unforgiving if you think you can just ease into games and find your rhythm. But our group is smart and ready, we know we need to come out of the gates firing.”
The women's team will face off against China in their opening clash, with Poland, Italy and Madagascar also featuring in their group.
The team includes Anneli Maley, Marena Whittle, Alex Wilson andrising talent Miela Sowah.
The World Cup will be held from 23rd to 29th of June in Ulaanbaatar.
