G League champ to elevate Phoenix roster

The South East Melbourne Phoenix have signed Hunter Maldonado on a one-year deal.
The South East Melbourne Phoenix have signed 2024 NBA G League champion, Hunter Maldonado, to elevate their roster ahead of their NBL26 campaign.
The 26-year-old combo guard won a championship with Oklahoma City Thunder's G League affiliate team, Oklahoma City Blue. Prior to that, he played college basketball for the University of Wyoming.
“Hunter is a multiple-year pro, he plays fast, and he’s won a championship so has that winning pedigree that is invaluable,” Phoenix's head coach, Josh King said.
“Above all, he’s got great character, and he embodies the values that we have at the Phoenix, so aside from being a great basketball player, he’s a great person too.”
He last played in the German basketball league, Basketball Bundesliga (BBL), with the MHP Riesen Ludwigsberg.
The Phoenix have one local and one import spot remaining to fill on their roster for the NBL26 season.
