Five-time NBL MVP Bryce Cotton admits he isn't feeling any 'pressure;' ahead of his long-awaited Adelaide 36ers debut.

One of the most highly-anticipated debuts will take place on Sunday, when five-time MVP Bryce Cotton plays his long-awaited first game for the Adelaide 36ers.

Cotton, who said his team are handling the Montrezl Harrell situation ‘as best as they can’, admits while he is excited to make his Sixers debut, after penning a three-year deal in May, he is not feeling any pressure and reamining positive ahead of the showdown with Brisbane.

“All I can do it be myself and [continue to] put in the work for my teammates and coaches and live with the results so in essence, there is no pressure in being myself,” Cotton said during Adelaide’s media availability.

“At the end of the day, whoever you play, it’s blurred faces and you want to go into every game about yourself and as a team, while ensuring you execute [as best you can].

“While I’ve been praying for Trezz [Harrell] and we, and the whole league will miss him, it’s all about the next man up and controlling what you can control.

“If you go into a game with a defeated attitude, you’ll probably end up losing anyway.”

Further to that, the three-time NBL champion believes ‘all the hard work has been done by the organisation to build this roster’, and now is up to the players to ‘do what they need to do’.

“We all have faith in our roster and we hope we can give our fans something to cheer about each week,” the 33-year-old said.

“We aim to play a fast and unselfish brand of basketball that's exciting for our fans.

“I know they [Adelaide] sold out plenty of games this last season and we hope to do that again this year.”

Sunday’s Round 2fixture with the Bullets at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre tips off at 4.30pm AEST, live on ESPN and Channel 10.
