The iconic Champion logo will continue to sit proudly on Hungry Jack’s National Basketball League (NBL) jerseys for the next three years following a new partnership agreement.
Champion has been a part of the NBL family since 2020 and will continue as the League’s official on-court apparel partner until at least the end of 2025.
After a successful launch last season, the Champion Pride Round will return in January and will promote, celebrate, and give thanks to the LGBTQ community, while showcasing basketball as a sport striving to provide a safe, healthy and accessible environment for all.
“Champion has made an enormous difference to the basketball community, and we are delighted to be extending our partnership,” NBL CEO David Stevenson said.
“Since joining the NBL, Champion has elevated the quality and designs of jerseys and apparel, but its contribution goes far beyond that.
“Champion Pride Round was a landmark moment for the NBL, as we strive to ensure everyone is welcomed and supported in our league, and individuals are encouraged to be themselves without fear of discrimination or judgement.
“General Manager of Champion in AUS/NZ, Sarah Flynn, has been a long-time supporter of our League and we look forward to growing our relationship as the partnership continues.”
Champion have been synonymous with basketball since the 90s when they became the first apparel sponsor of the NBL and US Dream Team.
As part of the NBL deal, Champion will continue to provide jerseys and all on-court apparel, as well lifestyle clothing for fans.
"We are thrilled to extend our partnership with the NBL and major sponsorship of the Champion Pride Round," General Manager Champion AUS/NZ, Sarah Flynn, said.
"As a global brand with a rich history of elevating the basketball experience for fans and players alike, we are extremely proud to pledge our ongoing support.
"Our goal is to make basketball more inclusive for everyone, and we will continue to work with the NBL to honour and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community's connection to the sport."
The 2023/24 Hungry Jack’s NBL Season begins on Thursday, September 28, when Melbourne United host South East Melbourne Phoenix at John Cain Arena.
