Bryce Cotton is reportedly set to become an Australian citizen ahead of the NBL26 season, paving the way for potential Boomers selection and giving the Adelaide 36ers greater roster flexibility with an extra import spot.

Bryce Cotton will become an Australian citizen ahead of the Hungry Jack’s NBL26 Season.

The news sees Cotton eligible to play for the Australian Boomers, as well as making him a non-restricted player at the Adelaide 36ers.

It would open the door for the 36ers to sign another import, alongside Zylan Cheatham and Montrezl Harrell.

ESPN's Olgun Uluc said the club would likely wait until mid-season to gauge its options before any further roster moves or changes.

Cotton reportedly hired a workplace migration law expert to help guide his citizenship process.

He joined Adelaide on a three-year deal in the Free Agency period, having won five MVPs as a Perth Wildcat.
