Boomers eye Asia Cup three-peat

Australia is yet to drop a game in Asia Cup competition since joining the tournament.
The path to a potential three-peat is clear for the Boomers, with Australia drawn into Group A for the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup alongside Korea, Lebanon and Qatar.
With the tournament tipped off for August 5–17 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the countdown begins for the Boomers’ return to the floor—this time with NBL talent once again expected to feature prominently.
Australia is yet to drop a game in Asia Cup competition since joining the tournament, and expectations will be high once again.
Check out the groups below:
- Group A: Qatar, Australia, Korea, Lebanon
- Group B: Guam, Japan, Syria, Iran
- Group C: China, Jordan, India, Saudi Arabia
- Group D: Chinese Taipei, New Zealand, Iraq, Philippines
Each group will play a single round-robin during the Group Phase, with every team facing off once. The top team from each group will earn a direct spot in the Quarter-Finals, while the second and third-placed teams will battle it out in an additional qualification round for a place in the final eight.
From the Quarter-Finals onward, the tournament shifts to a knockout format, with every game from that point played under single-elimination conditions.
