The Australian Gangurrus, headlined by numerous NBL and WNBL players, will compete in the 2026 FIBA 3x3 World Cup in Poland.

On Monday night AEST, the 2026 FIBA 3x3 World Cup tips off in Warsaw, Poland, with Australia’s two teams strong medal chances.

The men’s Gangurrus side will have a distinct NBL flavour during the June 1-7 tournament.

Newly re-signed Cairns Head Coach Adam Forde will lead the side, with former Taipans trio Alex Higgins-Titsha, Lachlan Barker and Jonah Antonio, as well as NBL24 champion Jarred Baristow, on the squad.

Higgins-Titsha and Antonio are returning members from last year’s side, which finished 10th in the standings with a 3-8 record.

While the women’s side will be led by 2001 NBL champion Damon Lowery, who will be looking to improve on their fifth-placed finish from 2025.

This year’s Gangurrus women’s side contains 2024 Olympians Amy Atwell and Marena Whittle, newly signed Townsville Fire wing Emma Clarke and incoming Southside Melbourne Flyers forward Hannah Hank.

The Australian men’s side, who are in Pool A, open their campaign against Spain at 7.20pm AEST on Monday, before playing Austria a few hours later (9.10pm AEST).

Rounding out their pool matches will be clashes with Madagascar (5.55pm AEST) and Serbia (7.45pm AEST).

In their group fixtures, Lowery’s side will play Mongolia (6.30pm AEST Tuesday), United States (8.45pm AEST Tuesday), Spain (5.05pm AEST Thursday) and Hungary (6.55pm AEST Thursday).

Finals will follow these fixtures, as both Gangurrus sides push for medals.

All matches will be broadcast live via Kayo Sports and the FIBA YouTube Channel.
