The Hungry Jack’s NBL has set a new record for the highest average attendance for a round in its history.

54,205 fans attended six games across Australia during round seven at an average of 9,034. This included the highest ever crowd for an NBL game, 17,514, for the Sydney Kings v Illawarra Hawks at Qudos Bank Arena.

Crowds at NBL games have already increased by 11 per cent on last season with 304,842 fans watching games across Australia and New Zealand.

All nine NBL teams will wear city themed uniforms across the next two rounds to celebrate their respective cities and cultures.

They will be unveiled on Friday night when the Brisbane Bullets wear black and white uniforms displaying the Brisbane skyline and the Adelaide 36ers wear a white ‘City of Churches’ uniform featuring a pink and blue mosaic design.

Other highlights of round eight of the 2019/20 Hungry Jack's NBL Season include:

  • The South East Melbourne Phoenix look to snap a two-game losing streak against top of the table Sydney Kings at Melbourne Arena at 5:30pm AEDT this Saturday
  • The Cairns Taipans will try to upset the defending champion Perth Wildcats for the second time this season on Saturday night at 8:00pm AEDT at Cairns Convention Centre
  • Adelaide will attempt to make it back to back wins when it plays the Brisbane Bullets at Nissan Arena at 7:30pm AEDT on Friday
  • LaMelo Ball will play in front of front of his home crowd when the Illawarra Hawks host the Cairns Taipans at 7:30pm AEDT on Monday night

Round eight of the 2019/20 Hungry Jack’s NBL Season begins on Friday night when Brisbane Bullets host Adelaide 36ers at Nissan Arena. Tip-off is at 7:30pm AEDT and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN and SBS On Demand.
