During his seven-year NBL career, Kouat Noi has established himself as one of the League’s most explosive scorers.
His ability to shoot from downtown, combined with his strength in attacking the basket, saw him become a key part of the Sydney Kings’ NBL23 and NBL26 championships.
Most of his 10.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.4 triples across his 182 games have come off the bench, seeing him crowned the NBL25 Sixth Man of the Year.
The 28-year-old, despite his ‘Silent Star’ nickname, has grown into one of the most confident players in the Hungry Jack’s NBL.
From saying he’s the ‘NBL’s most dangerous bench player’ to the ‘Kings are the team to beat’ in recent seasons, trash-talking has become part of Noi’s persona.
During his announcement with the Breakers recently, that confidence continued, with the South Sudanese international believing an ‘MVP-level season’ is on the cards for him.
“I am coming to Auckland to win,” Noi said.
“Look at the roster we are assembling - we are going to be the most entertaining team to watch.
“Personally, my mindset is locked in on an MVP-calibre season.
“I’m ready to fully embrace Aotearoa, I’m hyped to embrace the culture, the fans, and the whānau.
“Strap on your seatbelts, Breakers fans.”
Noi, who penned a two-year deal with the Breakers, will play alongside Parker Jackson-Cartwright, Sam Mennenga, Dejan Vasiljevic, Reuben Te Rangi, Carlin Davison, Izayah Le’Afa and Preston Le Gassick in New Zealand.
