The Adelaide 36ers’ roster build is far from over, with the club making a lucrative offer for star import Torrey Craig.

After falling heartbreakingly short in the NBL26 Championship Series two months ago, the Adelaide 36ers have wasted no time making major off-season moves, headlined by the appointment of Trevor Gleeson as coach.

But they're far from done.

“The offer is still there for Torrey Craig,” ESPN’s Olgun Uluc said on the Marketplace, presented by Paywise.

“He’s weighing his options. I know he really enjoyed his time in Sydney, but there is a really attractive number on the table for him (from Adelaide).”

Craig proved a standout mid-season addition for the Sydney Kings, averaging more than 12 points and 6 rebounds, while playing a key role in the club’s championship run.

“That’s the player I’ve been big on,” NBL champion Pete Hooley said.

“It feels like the type of signing that would put them over the edge.

“He’s made it clear he wants to get back to the NBA … and I think we saw in spurts that he’s more than capable of playing at that level.

“If that doesn’t happen … I think he would turn his attention to a full season in the NBL.”

Adelaide has already added Bul Kuol ahead of NBL27, but with the forward continuing his recovery from an ACL injury, remains focused on adding another athletic wing import.

“The 36ers feel like last season they were one wing away from winning a championship,” Uluc said.

“Theoretically they will have added two wings in Bul Kuol and Torrey Craig … but come playoff time when Bul Kuol’s healthy, they’ll have these athletic wings they can throw out there.

“Unfortunately last season the Sydney Kings had all of those.”
