Melbourne United’s Rayjon Tucker says his side will be using the upcoming NBL Blitz to "handle business"
Melbourne United’s Rayjon Tucker says his side will be using the upcoming NBL Blitz to "handle business" before the season proper tips off.
Fans will be afforded their first opportunity to see Tucker in action during the tournament in Darwin. He’s arrived in the competition as one of the star imports for the upcoming season.

Tucker says no matter what the situation is, he only has one goal.
“We all have one goal in mind and we just take it day by day by striving to get that goal,” he told SEN.
"My main focus is to win games and end up holding that trophy at the end of the year.
“The team is excited for the Blitz [and] I think we’re coming together really well … we’re excited to go up there, handle business, and come back to our fans at John Cain Arena and put on the show we always do.”
Despite standing at a listed height of 191 centimetres, Tucker comes into the NBL with a reputation for high-flying, flashy dunks. He’s nicknamed ‘The Flight’ for a reason.
28 points and 9 rebounds in a pre-season game against Brisbane showed just what the United star is capable of.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">THIS.... was so close and would have been so so big!<br><br>We can't wait to see <a href="https://twitter.com/th3flighttuck?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@th3flighttuck</a> in action at JCA! He's just warming up. <a href="https://t.co/VaiBsFeYIX">pic.twitter.com/VaiBsFeYIX</a></p>— Melbourne United (@MelbUnited) <a href="https://twitter.com/MelbUnited/status/1568550508566319104?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">September 10, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
And while he’s excited to showcase his talents in the top end, Tucker says he’s not losing sight of the job he needs to do for the team.
“That’s just a part of my game, that’s what I do. Whether it’s dunking on people, making a play or pass for my teammates or a move, I’m just a showman through and through,” he said of his penchant for entertaining.
“I am here to do what I need to do for the team and whatever the team needs, but at the same time I’ll play my game and show my talents.”
United kick off their Blitz campaign on Sunday, September 18. Grab your tickets here.
