Perth Wildcats wunderkind Luke Travers is looking to become the next player to use the NBL as a springboard to the NBA.
Travers has entered next week’s NBA Draft and has been working out with teams to help improve his stock.
After two strong seasons with the Wildcats, Travers is hoping to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Josh Giddey, Jock Landale, LaMelo Ball and more, who have gone from the NBL to the NBA.
“Obviously you’re playing against men every day (in the NBL) and it’s a pretty good league right now,” Travers said in an interview with the Indiana Pacers.
“A bunch of NBA experience as well. Going in every day, practicing against those types of guys has definitely prepared me, and here it is today. I’m trying to show that it’s a legit pathway.”

Travers also revealed he has been placing an emphasis on improving his jumpshot ahead of the draft.
“Everyone knows my jumpshot…I mean, it’s not terrible, but it’s definitely something I’m working toward,” he said.
“The last month I’ve been able to work on it in an individual perspective rather than in a team atmosphere.
“It’s been awesome to narrow down to the points I need to work on and think it’s come a long way.”
