Campbell: 'We’ll fight for our season'

Tyger Campbell says the JackJumpers are ready for the fight as they prepare for a do-or-die Play-In clash with Melbourne United.
The Tasmania JackJumpers hold no fear going into Thursday night’s Play-In Qualifier against Melbourne United at John Cain Arena.
Rather, the emotion the JackJumpers import Tyger Campbell feels heading into the do-or-die fixture is simply, excitement.
“I am super excited [to play Melbourne], I can’t really explain too much, but I’m not really worried about our past games there [at John Cain Arena]. We have a different team coming in, and we know they’ll be ready,” Campbell said to The Mercury.
While the Finals debutant is the first to admit that making the post-season “means a lot” to him and his JackJumpers side, they’re not content just qualifying for the top six, rather setting their sights on “some hardware”.

Scott Roth’s side has been facing adversity since they entered the competition, and this season’s injury-plagued campaign is no different.
To keep their campaign going, the American guard outlined where the keys to the elimination game were.
“We need to be better in transition defence against them, they’re really electric in the open court, they have some really good guards,” Campbell said.
“They’re big also, run the court very well and play very hard, so we just want to do better on defensive transition, and we’re just going to try, rebound, box [out] and fight for as long as we can.”
Thursday’s sudden death Play-In Qualifier tips off at 7.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN.
