Brisbane coach Stu Lash says his side after suffering from "mental fatigue" after three games in eight days.

Saturday's 37-point loss to Sydney marked the biggest by Brisbane during the Hungry Jack's NBL26 campaign.

Coach Stu Lash believes "mental fatigue" played a big role in the loss, with the Kings fixture was the Bullets' third game in eight days.

"There's a bit of mental fatigue right now, which you get to that 10-game mark and about a third of the way into the season," Lash said in the post-game press conference.

"You want to kind of take a little bit of a deep breath and be like, 'where are we?'

"You know who are we as a basketball team and still have a lot of confidence in what we're doing, how we're going about it and the way we're trending.

"There's just some areas that we really need to improve on and improve on quickly if we want to be fighting for a top four spot, which is one of our goals."

To that point Lash, whose side is now 3-7, says his team needs to start games better but also questioned the lopsided free-throw count.

The Kings took 18 more shots from the charity stripe on Saturday (26-8).

"You can't turn the ball over against this type of team," Lash said.

"They're (Sydney) really good in transition, they get downhill quick and they put heat on the rim.

"There was some physicality there, but we're a home team with two former MVPs and we got eight free throws to 26.

"We're not a club that's going to complain, but on our home floor, we deserve a bit more there.

"Did we deserve to get some more calls? Of course we did."
