Illawarra has moved quickly to strengthen their roster, reportedly adding high-scoring American guard Q.J. Peterson to boost their NBL26 campaign.

The Illawarra Hawks have reportedly filled their vacant import spot, securing the signature of American point guard Q.J Peterson.

The reigning champions have struggled in the early part of the season following the departure of star guard Trey Kell III, Will Hickey missing games through injury, and the early exit of JaQuori McLaughlin.

ESPN's Olgun Uluc says the 31-year-old, who most recently played in China with Xinjiang Flying Tigers, has agreed to a deal for the remainder of the Hungry Jack’s NBL26 Season.

Peterson has been a prolific scorer across the world throughout his professional career, averaging 20.7 points a game and almost 40 per cent from the three-point line this season.

He has played in Puerto Rico, Turkey, Denmark and Ukraine in recent years.
