'No Piccaso' but Perth finding a way

Perth coach John Rillie is happy his team are finding ways to win games, despite a slow offensive start to the season.
Perth Wildcats coach John Rillie is proud that his team are finding ways to win in the early part of the Hungry Jack’s NBL26 season.
The Wildcats sit at 3-1, including three straight wins, after Friday’s three-point road victory over Cairns.
The most pleasing thing about that for Rillie is that his team’s offence hasn’t fully clicked into gear yet.
“As we chip away, our offence isn’t no Picasso right now, so we need to find other ways to contribute to the scoreboard ticking over,” Rillie said in Friday’s post-game press conference.
“[A lot of that has come from] how great we’ve been at the defensive end.
“I don't know what our raw numbers are after tonight, but they were pretty good going into tonight's game.
“That end of the floor is allowing us to figure ourselves out at the other end.
“And then, I think we're 10th in the league in three-point percentage right now, but as I say, water will find its level in that area, so I know that will come around.
“We can't become impatient and have to be okay winning games like this until we really find a nice groove.”
The Wildcats now return home for their first Ignite Cup game on Wednesday, where they’ll host Brisbane from 9.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN.
