NBL legend backs Casey's case for MVP

NBL champion Cal Burton believes Brisbane star Casey Prather should be in the MVP mix.
Earlier in the week, NBL champion Damon Lowery threw his MVP support behind Illawarra Hawks superstar JaVale McGee.
Now fellow NBL champion Cal Bruton, who was also voted to two All-NBL First Teams, has weighed in on the discussion and thrown the name of another high-profile import in the mix.
"Prather should be in that [MVP] conversation," Bruton said on Thursday's episode of NBL Now.
"I'm always high on Casey, I've liked him since he first came in the league.
"He can rebound, he can defend. He's got all facets of the offensive game, the three-point, he can go inside and post you up, he's got mid-range. I love his game.
"I sit down and watch him. He keeps me on the edge of my seat like Bryce [Cotton]."
Prather, who is averaging a career-high 24.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2 steals per game during the Hungry Jack's NBL26 season, and his Bullets will look to improve on their 3-6 start to the season on Thursday when they host Cairns at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
That Indigenous Round fixture tips off at 7.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN.
