Talking points
Road warriors continue
Tasmania must back up in less than 48 hours after a battle against Sydney on Wednesday night, including the travel across to New Zealand. The JackJumpers already showed early in NBL26 that they’re capable of getting it done on the road, but this will be a bigger test, given the short turnaround for Scott Roth’s team.
PJC’s help
Mark Worthington said on NBL Now that Parker Jackson-Cartwright needs help, referring to fellow imports Izaiah Brockington and Rob Baker II needing to lift. Both have shown flashes of their full potential, but it’s only been enough for the Breakers to win one game so far.
What they're saying
Breakers coach Petteri Koponen on imports Brockington and Baker's adjustment to the NBL:
“We’re trying to give them confidence.
“What we ask them is do your job defensively, and offensively do the simple things.
"If you’re open, shoot the ball and be aggressive. But everybody needs to do a better job on defence.”
JackJumpers coach Scott Roth on skipper Will Magnay being ejected in the third quarter against Sydney:
“The guys rally around him (Magnay) in the locker room and showed him some love, but those are just growth moments for a young kid that’s thrown into that role.
“We just got to do what we got to do, we've got to recover, travel and get some rest as best we can and go back at it again.”
