"I love the fans": Poole's heartfelt thanks

The NBAxNBL Fan Night at Rod Laver Arena had an electric atmosphere that the players thoroughly enjoyed.

In particular, New Orleans Pelicans star Jordan Poole, who helped his side win Saturday's three-point contest, had high praise for the Australian hoops fans.

"It [the night] was fantastic - great crowd, great turnout," guard Poole said.

"[We're all] really excited to be here, [in front of these] amazing fans, who love the game.

"I love the fans [and the love we've felt] is why we're so excited and thankful to be here.

"We're extremely thankful to be able to be part of history, and we can't wait to come back [to Australia]."

Poole, who had 11 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in Friday's match with Melbourne United, and his Pelicans return to the court on Sunday for game two of the historic series against the South East Melbourne Phoenix.
