Talking points
Sydney's next operation
Brian Goorjian called it a 'successful military operation,' when his team went into Adelaide and managed to keep the five-time MVP Bryce Cotton to a quiet night. It helped them get a big win over the 36ers, but now there's a new Bryce to focus on for the Kings.
Bryce Hamilton is the engine room for the JackJumpers and if the Kings can repeat what they produced last week defensively, they should be going close to winning.
Magnay's presence
Will Magnay has the reputation of being one of the best defenders in the league, and he's arguably the most important player for Tasmania because of everything he brings on that end. He comes up against a Sydney team that doesn't have much resistance in the big man department, which could mean a big night for the JackJumpers' foundational piece.
What they're saying
JackJumpers coach Scott Roth on the team's injuries:
"Majok (Deng) is ten days to three weeks (away from a return), somewhere in there. Depending how he goes here in the next few days. He’s running… we’ll see how he progresses.
"David Johnson is three to four weeks, or less, in that range. He’s just started to run."
Kings coach Brian Goorjian after defeating Adelaide:
"One of the things I said to them [the players before arriving in Adelaide], from the time we walk into this township, it's a military operation.
"[From the moment] they arrived at the stadium, I knew they were [locked] in.
"Coming in here tonight and getting a win here goes down as one, not just this year, but and in the manner that we did it, one of the better wins that I've had in my time in the NBL."
