Talking points
MVP battle
The competition's top two MVP contenders, Bryce Cotton and Kendric Davis, will lock horns in a electric backcourt battle on Wednesday night.
Five-time MVP Cotton is leading the league with 26.6 points a game, which has helped the Sixers rattle off seven straight wins.
While University of Memphis alum Davis is sitting in third in points per game (23.3), powering the Harbour City side to back-to-back road wins over Perth and Melbourne.
The winner of this duel will go a long to determining the outcome of this Ignite Cup fixture.
Pit-Bul off the leash
In Cairns, Bul Kuol established himself as one of the competition's top defenders.
Now after an injury-plagued first season in Sydney, the South Sudanese international is now recapturing that form.
He restricted Cotton to a season-low 7 points in the two sides' previous meeting in Round 4.
Now in more recent times, he held Perth's Kristian Doolittle and Melbourne's Chris Goulding to 5 and 8 points respectively last round, resulting in two wins for the Kings.
What they're saying
Kings forward Kouat Noi on facing the 36ers:
“This is the best team in the league and they’re on top of the ladder for a reason.
“We’re just going out there, like we didn’t win two games (last round).
“It’s going to be a tough matchup, and we’re really looking forward to the competition.”
36ers coach Mike Wells on trying to exact revenge on Sydney for earlier in the season:
“That [defeat] was a long time ago, number one.
“[It was] early in the season and we've changed a lot [since then].
“We give them a ton of credit. They're a good team. They're a long, athletic team, and they like to pressure and do things like that.
“It was hard for me to even identify that team when looking back to be honest with you ... we've grown and changed.”
