Talking points

Top spot on the line
The Sydney Kings have a very simple task and that is to win.

It doesn't matter how they get it done or by how much, as long as they get the job done against the Brisbane Bullets, they will finish on top for the regular season.

In doing so, they will lock in home court advantage throughout the entire post-season, which could end up being a huge factor in their championship hopes.

Australian call up
It's been a very disappointing season for the Bullets, but the shining star throughout has been the emergence of Jacob Holt.

Not only has Holt impressed as one of the leading young big men in the league, but his play has earnt him a call-up to the Boomers team for the upcoming FIBA Break.

As the Bullets enter the off-season with many big decisions to be made, it's somewhat comforting to know they have this talent locked away.

What they're saying

Bullets interim head coach Darryl McDonald on finishing the season strong:
"It's our last game, it's our last game at home, and the least we can do is come out and play hard, and compete for our fans.

"I made that point last week and I thought we competed against Cairns, but now we're playing against the top seed and they're still fighting to stay where they are.

"With them coming to see us on Friday, it's not going to be no different to what they have been doing and they're probably right now the best team in it and they're playing well, but we just have to come in, get our work in during the week and then try to take a swing at them.

"We might try to junk it up and see what happens, and it's going to be tough, but the motivation is to come out and compete and play hard for your fans."

Kings coach Brian Goorjian on his star Kendric Davis:
“I was taken aback by it [comments of the MVP race being over by Mike Wells] and I don’t want to get into this, because this has kind of put me in a position after yesterday listening and I've got to bring my guy into this.

“There was such a strong push but in our mind, we started this season and no one had us in the top four coming in and what's happened? We have a chance as we sit right now today, we're on top of the ladder, we've played them [Adelaide] four times and beaten them three.

“He [Davis] is having a season that goes down in Sydney Kings' history as one of the best individual performances of any player to put on this uniform, and then this whole aspect of him as a leader and him as a person all of that came across as well.”
