Talking points
Bryce vs Bryce
On one side of the court you have a five-time MVP in Bryce Cotton, and on the other is Tasmania’s new star Bryce Hamilton. Both share the same first name and both share are similar skill – and that is scoring the ball at very high level. Both leading men have a good advantage in this game of having limited defensive stoppers on their opposition teams, so watch the scoreboard in this one.
Magnay's presence
This Last season, in this venue and against the same opposition, Will Magnay gave us one of the best defensive highlights of the season. The JackJumpers big man has shown the league that he’s one of the best rim protectors in the game and with Isaac Humphries playing with supreme confidence, this will be fun to watch.
What they're saying
36ers star Dejan Vasiljevic on playing against Tasmania:
"They [Tasmania] are probably referring to themselves as 'road dawgs' right now, so it's up to us to slow down their momentum early," 36ers star Dejan Vasiljevic said on Wednesday's episode of NBL Now.
"The key is cutting off the head of the snake, which is Bryce Hamilton - who I'm surprised is not in more MVP discussions.
"But we also still need to keep an eye on Will Magnay and Josh Bannan, who like to bully down in the post.
"[Against this team] we've got to utilise every advantage we can to compete at a high level."
Tasmania coach Scott Roth on guard TJ Starks:
"It's going to put a lot of pressure on teams to guard multiple guys on our team because having three guys who can create off the bounce and in pick-and-roll situations, that's definitely something that we're going to exploit as much as we possibly can," Roth said.
"He's a hell of a player, and we're happy to have him for a few weeks before he heads to China."
