Perth Wildcats’ player Matthew Hodgson has been handed a three game ban, of which two have been suspended.

The 30-year-old was charged with striking twice and engaging in a melee/brawl during Sunday’s game against the Sydney Kings. Hodgson was referred directly to a single member tribunal which concluded on Friday afternoon.

The tribunal upheld the two striking charges but dismissed the charge of engage in a melee/brawl.

On Wednesday Hodgson issued an apology for his actions saying: "I consider my reaction out of character and I'm extremely disappointed in myself as I've let down my teammates, club and fans.

"To Dejan, I'm sorry, there is no excuse for my behaviour.

"I take full responsibility for my actions and will make every effort to improve myself physically and mentally before returning to the court."

Hodgson will miss Perth’s game against the South East Melbourne Phoenix tomorrow night.
