Adelaide 36ers sharpshooter Dejan Vasiljevic is confident John Jenkins can help the team on their quest for the NBL26championship.

The Adelaide 36ers may be leading the way on the ladder, but it has been a turbulent week away from the court.

On Tuesday, the club officially announced they had mutually parted ways with import Troy Brown Jr.

Less than 24 hours later, Mike Wells' side unveiled that they had signed former NBA sharpshooter John Jenkins as an Injury Replacement Player for the remainder of the Hungry Jack's NBL26 season.

While some believe it will take some time for the Atlanta Hawks' 2012 Draft pick to be integrated into the 36ers' system, guard Dejan Vasiljevic is confident Jenkins will fit in seamlessly.

"We're a bit fortunate because Mike's actually worked with John Jenkins in the past, during those FIBA windows with the US team," Vasiljevic said on Wednesday's episode of NBL Now.

"He [Wells] kind of understands his game and he [Jenkins] probably understands what Mike wants. Mike's probably sent him a billion clips of his offence and defence, showing him that this is what we run, so it'll just be connecting with and gelling with guys.

"It'll also be fortunate for him to join us and practice with us before suiting up. I don't know if he'll play, but he will suit up because obviously we've got to meet the deadlines and the criteria [for Finals].

"Then we'll have some good practices next week before we can hit the road running into a three-game road trip."

Despite this quick reshuffle, the Australian Boomer still has complete faith his side can go all the way in NBL26.

"You [look at all the recent champions], it was who stayed the healthiest and who had depth on the bench, which was Illawarra last year," Vasiljevic said.

"Obviously that's what we want to continue to build on and [is a big reason] why we're in first.

"If we can all continue to stay healthy, which we have, and everyone plays their role [I'm confident in our group].

"Everyone's going to pop off for a game here and there, and we'll celebrate each other's performances as long as we get a team win. That's really all that matters."

Dejan Vasiljevic is a $135,900 guard in the NBL’s official fantasy game, Beat The Coach, presented by Choice Hotels. Take on Damon Lowery and Beat the Coach in any round of the NBL26 Season and you’ll receive an entry into the end-of-season $10,000 prize draw, including $5,000 cash and $5,000 in Choice Hotels™ gift vouchers. Jenkins isn't the only high profile signing in the past 24 hours, with Sydney adding 2017 Defensive Player of the Year Torrey Craig on Wednesday.

Two-time champion Vasiljevic believes this high profile movement is good for the competition.

"We went out and did something big by signing Bryce Cotton [in the off season], and now teams are also spending big to get players as they understand how good this league has become," he said.

"The league is continually growing and on any given night, anyone can beat anyone. Last week, Cairns beat Melbourne and Tasmania came in and defeated us [on our home floor].

"The games and the league are so unpredictable, which makes it so enjoyable to be a part of."
