Cairns v Tasmania Seeding Qualifier Set

The Cairns Taipans will host the Tasmania JackJumpers in the Seeding Qualifier game of the Hungry Jack's NBL Finals.

The match-up was locked in after New Zealand defeated the Brisbane Bullets tonight, securing second spot for the Breakers while bumping Cairns to third.

The winner of the Seeding Qualifier will face the Breakers in the Playoffs, with the loser getting a second chance. 

A blockbuster double-header tomorrow will determine fifth and sixth. Melbourne United hosts the Adelaide 36ers at 2pm AEDT, before the Perth Wildcats play the Sydney Kings at 4pm AEDT.  Both games will be broadcast on ESPN via Kayo Freebies and Foxtel, 10 Peach and 10 play.

New Zealand was given a scare from the Bullets, but overcame them in an overtime thriller, recording an 80-75 victory.

Earlier in the night, the JackJumpers secured fourth by smashing the Illawarra Hawks, 87-63.

The win came at a cost, though, with Tasmania star Josh Magette suffering what seems to be a serious facial injury. Will Magnay and Clint Steindl also left the game with lingering injury questions.
